Colt CZ Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Frankenburg Technologies
Prague (May 27, 2026) – Colt CZ Group SE, one of the world's leading vertically integrated manufacturers of firearms, ammunition, and energetics, and Frankenburg Technologies, Estonian-headquartered European defense technology company building affordable, mass-manufacturable guided missile systems, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to cooperate on affordable counter-UAS missile systems for Ukraine and other European and NATO countries. The cooperation brings Frankenburg's low-cost, mass-manufacturable interceptor missile systems into the European defense-industrial environment, with Colt CZ Group acting as a regional industrial partner for integration, production cooperation, distribution, and support.
The Memorandum of Understanding establishes a framework for collaboration in the areas of counter-UAS technologies, joint research and development, supply chain resilience, regional production and distribution, and industrial cooperation within Europe. The partnership also focuses on the integration and delivery of Frankenburg's missile systems into European defense structures, including support for Ukraine's urgent air-defense needs.
“With this memorandum, Colt CZ Group and Frankenburg Technologies formalize an important cooperation focused on strategic strengthening of the European defense capabilities and supporting Ukraine in countering unmanned aerial threats. Through this partnership, both companies aim to combine Czech industrial capacity with Estonian technological innovation, contributing to stronger European and NATO defense readiness, enhanced security cooperation, and greater resilience against emerging threats,” said Ondřej Boháč, Head of Government Affairs at Colt CZ Group.
“Air defense is one of Ukraine’s most urgent armament needs. Frankenburg is pursuing this priority in collaboration with Colt CZ Group to help Ukraine access attritable interceptor missiles and launchers against mass aerial attacks, while expanding affordable missile defense capacity for Czechia and European allies,” said Kusti Salm, CEO of Frankenburg Technologies.
This agreement affirms cooperation on establishing resilient and scalable supply chains to support production, delivery, and sustainment of counter-UAS capabilities, while enabling the efficient transfer and integration of Frankenburg Technologies' missile systems into the Czech Republic and Slovakia, including through cooperation on manufacturing, assembly, and logistics, while jointly pursuing export and marketing opportunities in third markets.
The MoU was signed during the Estonia–Czechia Business Forum in Tallinn, held in the context of the state visit of H.E. Petr Pavel, President of the Czech Republic, to Estonia. The signing followed special addresses by H.E. Alar Karis, President of the Republic of Estonia, and H.E. Petr Pavel, President of the Czech Republic.
